French Dip (instant pot)

Season with salt and pepper and brown in oil for 10 minutes per side:

   - 2-3 pounds beef

Slice into rings:

   - 1 large or 2 small onion

Remove beef and sauté the onion for a few minutes.


   - 1 Tbs minced garlic

   - 2 tsp beef bouillon

   - 1 tsp salt

   - 1/4 tsp thyme

   - 2 bay leaves

Sauté for another minute or two and then eglaze pot with:

   - 1 cup water

Then add:

   - 2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce

   - 1 Tbs soy sauce

If cooking on the stove top, transfer to Instant Pot and add the beef.

Cook for 45 minutes and allow a natural release of at least 25 minutes.

Remove bay leaves before serving.


Serve sliced or shredded.

If desired, the au jus can be reduced by cooking on the stove top or with the sauté function for several minutes after the beef is removed.
